Iberoamerican Society Neonatal Network
Mission Statement
- To create an Iberoamerican neonatal intensive care network
that produces information which will translate into actions, leading
to improvement of neonatal-perinatal healthcare at local and regional
levels.
- To facilitate and stimulate its members to conduct multidisciplinary
collaborative research, the main objective being improving neonatal-perinatal
health at the local and regional levels, leading to knowledge
of worldwide applicability.
Vision Statement
- To contribute to a substantial reduction of neonatal morbidity
and mortality throughout Iberoamerican neonatal intensive care
units and the region in the next 10 years.
- To establish a network whose members, within the next three
years, will know very well their local conditions thus leading
to changes in practice, constantly evaluating outcomes in order
to improve the quality of healthcare delivery to the newborn infants
under their care.
- To its members to benefit their patients by communicating outcomes
of different neonatal units, transferring and incorporating best
practice models in a methodical and controlled fashion, assessing
outcomes appropriately and continuously.
- To support the members’ freedom and desire to create
or participate in network collaborative studies, adequately acknowledging
their participation.
- The members are of course free to participate or be members
in other networks and can participate in out of network clinical
studies if they so decide.
Objectives
- To establish and maintain a truly Iberoamerican neonatal-perinatal
database.
- To provide the infrastructure to facilitate knowledge of morbidity
and mortality and care provided to newborn infants in the region.
- To facilitate obtaining accurate data leading to information
which gets translated into actions that allow the improvement
of neonatal-perinatal health at local and regional levels.
- To establish an Iberoamerican network of investigators interested
in neonatal-perinatal research.
- To study longitudinally outcomes and variability in medical
care, so that, without increasing the costs, improved outcomes
are achieved.
- To develop innovative research methods that lead to improvements
in the quality of neonatal-perinatal healthcare in each and all
of the Iberoamerican countries.
